BOLIVIA DIGNA - ORGANISATION TO SUPPORT DISADVANTAGED CHILDREN

After finishing our overland trip through the America’s we returned to Bolivia to the city of Cochabamba to volunteer with Bolivia Digna for a month. The organisation supports disadvantaged children in the local area. Many of these children come from difficult backgrounds. Their parents are often away working for long periods of time and they are forced to raise themselves in homes often lacking the most basic of amenities such as electricity, running water and indoor toilets.
Our day to day routine was to help provide the children a safe place to gather every afternoon. During this time we’d play games, create arts and crafts and take part in outdoor sports. Many of the activities encouraged an educational element to them.
On occasion, we’d also help to distribute food cooked by locals to the many homeless people on the streets of Cochabamba.
