Death Valley National Park
Our second National Park adventure! We spent 2 days exploring the dry, rocky and exceptionally hot Death Valley National Park. To avoid prolonged periods in the heat (temperatures reached 101f at times) we embarked on lots of mini excursions. We walked out to the salt flats at Badwater Basin, the lowest point in the US at -282ft below sea level (where the temperature reached 101f), visited the Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes, and braved the conditions over two canyon hikes.
